This is my new – and first – photography blog. I hope it will be useful to you.
An important part of my work is teaching photography to other people; from complete beginners who just want to take better pictures, through to serious amateurs who want to begin making money through photography.
Since I taught myself photography a long time ago (starting with a Russian Zenith camera my Dad bought me for £50, with a screw-in 50mm lens and no light meter), I teaching my students the way I wish someone had taught me. Comprehensively.
These days, digital cameras make photography easy to learn. But only if the user has the right motives to make this happen.
I’m going to share some photography secrets with you on separate posts. Actually these aren’t secrets at all, but are techniques and tips that anyone can learn and discover if they have the curiosity and interest to move their photography to the stage where they can begin to express themselves in ways they intend, without worrying all the time about camera settings.
Good luck with your photography!

Hi James, just wanted to say that your blog site is brilliant! Really enjoy reading it and pick up tips every time I do. Love your story about moving to London and taking ‘Pride’ and ‘Courage’ :o)
What you’ve written is inspiring and leaves me feeling excited about the prospect of actually saying something through my photos.
Thank you so much!
Hi James,
Just wanted to say thank you for the class today! Really enjoyed it, and shall be taking ‘pride’ and ‘courage’ along with me on this photography journey… thank god you taught me how to take a picture
Anyway, in all seriousness, I’m leaving this note to tell anyone who is reading this and considering taking a class- it’s worth it! And, it will inspire you to bring meaning and depth to your photos…
Thank You!
You actually make it seem so easy with your presentation but I find this matter to be really something which I think I would
never understand. It seems too complicated and extremely broad for me.
I am looking forward for your next post, I’ll try to get the hang of it!
Hi there, i read your blog from time to time and i own a similar one and i was just wondering if you get a lot of spam remarks?
If so how do you prevent it, any plugin or anything you can recommend?
I get so much lately it’s driving me insane so any assistance is very much appreciated.
Hi there Fletcher.
Thanks for your post.
Luckily I don’t get any spam whatsoever. Maybe I’m just lucky.
Only advice I could give you is to Google ‘removing spam from (your blog software)’.
Hope you can clean up the spam. Good luck!
James
You can definitely see your skills in the article you
write. The sector hopes for even more passionate writers such as you
who aren’t afraid to say how they believe. At all times follow your heart.
Thank you so much for your kind words. Yes, the heart speaks most clearly for us x
Whats up are using WordPress for your site platform?
I’m new to the blog world but I’m trying to get started and create my own.
Do you need any html coding expertise to make your own blog?
Any help would be really appreciated!
Hi Jaqueline. Thanks for your message.
I did get someone to teach me something about Dreamweaver to administer my web sites, which are in html, but for me coding is still a bit too far.
This site (WordPress) is actually very easy to find your way around; start by looking at their layout templates and choose one you like for overall
layout and balance between text and any images. Then see if they have any tutorials to make it easier for the beginner – if not, get a geeky friend
to help you set it up the way you want.
I hope this is helpful. Let me know how you get on.
James
Spot on with this write-up, I really believe that this amazing
site needs far more attention. I’ll probably be returning to see more, thanks for the information!
